"In Remembrance of Our Heroes"

"In Remembrance of Our Heroes"

We'll always remember the people who died,

The people who fought, the people who cried.

They fought for our freedom, we're thankful for this,

They fought for the towers, which we'll always miss.

The firefighters worked,

The policeman did too.

But after a while, there was nothing they could do.

For them we were faithful,

We'd hoped they'd come through,

They were brave and fearless and did what they had to.

All day and all night, they tried and they tried,

They saved people's lives, then themselves they died.

For this they are heroes to me and to you

and to thank them for this, we should always be true.

For what they did, we should pay them back

With loving and truthfulness no one should slack.

And maybe someday, if we always be true,

We all could be heroes and follow them through.

We could save people's lives, with risk of our own,

Just like the firefighters and policeman have shown.
