SALEM -- Word leaked out in May, the day after a handful of Salem High School teachers received pink slips. Students carried the news home to parents, or parents read about it on a Web site run by teachers.



In Marblehead, gold medalist is a hometown hero
MARBLEHEAD -- Tyler Hamilton's hometown was wearing a big, golden grin yesterday, following his gold medal victory in cycling at the Olympics in Athens, Greece. And when the home folks talked about their champion, they were as eager to boast about his good character as his good cycling.
